Environmental sustainability has played a vital role in A.S.98 collections for many years now. For many seasons, the brand's shoes and accessories have been created almost exclusively with vegetable-tanned uppers and all our accessories/details are nickel-free. In the spring/summer 2021 collection, important new eco-friendly policies have been introduced both for the shoes and bags/accessories: leather linings are vegetable-tanned, the soles are almost all made in recycled TR, the stitching is carried out with recycled thread and, with very few exceptions, the glue is water-based.

With its FW2021 collection, A.S. 98 combines fashion and an eco-friendly approach, focusing on environmental policies without ever compromising on design and style: the threads are recycled, footbeds are no longer whitened (with significant reduction in energy usage), while the percentage of metal content in the lining and uppers is decreased.

Another important innovation is linked to the use and development of permanent moulds and lasts, which allow a waste reduction in terms of plastic moulds and soles needed for the creation of new collections.
The 2021 collections carry the genetic code of all A.S. 98 creations, but are committed to saving the future of our planet.
